McWhorter Architects

Carey McWhorter, a Fort Walton Beach native, received his Bachelor's of Architecture from Auburn University in 1982 and his Master's of Architecture in Urban Design from Cornell University in 1985, where he studied with Professor Colin Rowe. In 1986, he began practicing architecture in Washington DC and later in New York City. He relocated to the Florida Panhandle and established McWhorter Architects, PA in 1992.

McWhorter Architects, PA has received numerous design awards. The most recent from the Florida AIA; the 1999 Unbuilt Design Award for the project, "The Destin House." and the 1998 Award of Excellence for the project "The King House."
